Lidia Ursache: Bachelor of Law

I reached a turning point in my life when I decided I wanted a bigger challenge and to help people. Somebody told me to write down on a piece of paper everything I wanted to do, and see what aligns with my skills. The first thing I wrote down was “lawyer”. It was a perfect fit for me because I would have the opportunity to utilize my research, negotiating and relationship building skills.

Louise Campbell: Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science

Deciding to return to University as a mature age student, and after having a career, was a big decision. Thankfully, it is a decision that I have never once regretted. I love attending the University of Adelaide and studying something that I am passionate about (Mathematics and Statistics).

Louise Campbell

Adrian De Luca: Master of Nursing Science

The program was an opportunity for me to develop advanced knowledge and skills in clinical inquiry, practice and leadership in nursing. My best experiences in the program were the advancement of knowledge and clinical practice; peer support, preceptor-and mentorship.

Pathways into university

At the University of Adelaide we understand considering tertiary study happens at different stages of life and not straight from high school. There are many pathways available into university:

Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT): two hour multiple choice test assessing your ranges of skills and knowledge. Check out the SATAC website for STAT sittings.

TAFE/VET qualification: by successfully completing a TAFE/VET qualification this may count towards study with us.

Australian Defence Force: by using your qualification this may gain you entry into a range of our degrees.

University transfer: you can be considered if you have successfully completed at least 6 months of full-time equivalent study.

  • When will I find out whether my undergraduate application will be accepted for midyear entry?

Early offers may be made to applicants not awaiting current year tertiary results. E.g, STAT or 2016 ATAR/IB results are being used to determine eligibility.

If an applicant is awaiting current year tertiary results (GPA), offers will be made each Tuesday and Thursday from July 6.

  • What if I don’t get an undergraduate offer that I want? Should I rearrange my preferences?

There are two options: 1.Respond to your offer by logging in to your SATAC application and selecting ‘accept but be considered for a higher preference’. This will indicate, within subsequent offer rounds, you are still interested in a place in the program(s) listed higher than the one in which you were offered. You will be automatically reconsidered for all your preferences in the next round. 2. Rearrange your preferences by adding, deleting or changing the order of your degree preferences in the next offer round.

  • Do I need to attend orientation week if I am starting university in semester 2?

It isn’t compulsory but it’s a great way to meet people studying a similar program and also familiarise yourself with the campus before week 1 starts.

  • Can I defer my undergraduate offer?

If made an offer for semester 2 entry, offers cannot be deferred.

  • I’m not sure if I want to start in Semester 2 2017 or Semester 1 2018. Who should I speak to about this?

Ask Adelaide staff are on hand to assist with any queries you have. Give them a call on +61 8313 5208

  • Can I apply for Scholarships?

Yes. The University of Adelaide offers an exceptionally broad range of scholarships, suitable for a number of students. We would advise that any student considering the University of Adelaide – apply for as many scholarships as they believe they are eligible for.

Note: Please check each individual scholarship for eligibility criteria and mid-year availability.
