PhD in Global Food Studies

Our PhD program in Global Food Studies is a 'research-focused' PhD with topics typically related to some economics, business and policy issues affecting agricultural and food value chains, including smallholder producers in less developed countries to food consumers in Australia.

Our PhD students are welcome to, and in fact encouraged to take postgraduate coursework to learn related theory and analytical skills. We strongly encourage interested applicants to our PhD program to apply for a scholarship to assist with tuition and to provide some funding for research. Most of our current students are working projects that are involved in one of our large externally funded projects. However, students can bring with them a research project or project idea and we can attempt to find funding.
