Sports Week and the VC Cup

Congratulations to the Division of Academic and Student Engagement, winners of the 2023 Adelaide University Sports Inter-Faculty Sports Shield during Sports Week, held between 11-15 September. The week ended in style with the 15th annual VC Cup 800 metre relay race, won by the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

Three Minute Thesis winners

The final of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition was held on the 12th September, where 10 PhD students from across the University shared their research. Congratulations to the winner: Chelsea Matthews, runner-up: Ashleigh Geiger, and people's choice: Jacqueline Barsby. More information.

Introduction to Machine Learning using Python

In focus: brand and student experience

Developing the Adelaide University brand ready for market in mid-2024 is one of the large pieces of work underway. Both universities have independently conducted a series of staff workshops to explore our existing brands. A workshop to kick-off transition planning for the Student Experience and Administration domain has also been held. Celebrating the Inspiring Achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduates

During the University graduation week, graduates will wear a cultural sash over their graduation gown that identifies their cultural heritage as Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander or both.

International Fellows Award launches

Adelaide University north terrace campus

Applications are now open for the inaugural University of Adelaide International Fellows Award. Fellowships of up to $20,000 each are available to bring international collaborators to Adelaide to work with our researchers and students on key global challenges. This round closes on 30 October and two rounds will be available in 2024. More information.

English Australia John Gallagher award

Sandra Caon-Parsons, Education Advisor at the English language Centre was awarded the English Australia John Gallagher award for 2023. English Australia is the national peak body for the English language sector of international education in Australia. The award recognises the outstanding contribution of an individual to the ELICOS sector. More information.
