Adelaide Microscopy Entrance Changes
As of 31/7/2017 staff and visitors will no longer be able to access Adelaide Microscopy through the main Medical School doors until further notice. Please follow the signage to the new entrance and use the door at the northwestern corner of the building on the ground floor (around the corner on the left side when facing the front of the Medical School building).
Staff Changes - July 2017
Lyn Waterhouse will be on leave for the next year, after an incredible 40 years working in microscopy. We will miss her around AM, as well as her expertise in biological applications, sample preparation and microscopy in general. We wish her all the very best during her time off.
We welcome Dr Lisa O'Donovan to fill Lyn's role, Lisa has extensive experience in biological sample preparation and electron microscopy and will be a great addition to Adelaide Microscopy team.
Linda Matto, our Events and Marketing Manager, has left Adelaide Microscopy after almost 20 years of service. Linda has been instrumental in organising conferences and workshops over the years, as well as running day to day functions of the centre. We will miss her greatly and wish her all the best for the future.
New Booking System 2017 - No More Calcium
In 2017 Adelaide Microscopy will transition to a new booking system, EZ Booking. Users may be required to re-register their details. Please email us for further details.

Staff Positions 2016 and 2017
Dr Sarah Gilbert is the new Microanalysis Specialist supporting researchers on the LA-ICPMS. Sarah previously worked in the ARC TMVC Research Hub at University of Tasmania and has extensive experience in Geochemistry, Petrology, Mineralogy and Crystallography. Say hello to Sarah.
Aoife McFadden is leaving us for fifteen months from the end of January 2017. We wish Aoife well with her travels.
We are very pleased to welcome Dr Dave Kelsey who will step into Aoife’s position whilst she is away. Dave is a very experienced researcher in Geoscience, particularly Metamorphic Geology. Dave will provide training on the Quanta600 MLA and other microscopy applications for researchers in Geoscience.
