Giancarlo Cassinelli

Why did you choose your degree?

I had been working in Agribusiness and the wine industry for a number of years and I wanted to complement my bachelor degree in communication and marketing with a degree more in line with what I was really doing.

Why did you choose to study at the University of Adelaide?

I wanted to do it overseas and Australia had been in my head for a while. I think the mix of agribusiness and wine made Adelaide the ideal place to be. The Master of Agribusiness at The University of Adelaide was what I was looking for and taking electives from the wine business program was the perfect mix for me.

What do you enjoy about the Master of Agribusiness?

It was good to get back in school after being working full time for some time. I enjoyed the time to work on skills I was not fully developing while working and have the opportunity to get to know new places. The connection between Australia and Asia allowed me to look at different markets and opportunities I was a bit far from in Latin America.

What job role do you have now?

I work as project manager at Food South Australia where we are putting together a project to help SME´s in the food and beverage space access new export markets and benefit of the Free Trade Agreements Australia takes part of. The project is called the South Australian Food and Beverage export hub.
