COVID-19 FAQ

UPDATE FOR ADELAIDE MICROSCOPY USERS

The University of Adelaide is continuing to follow advice from Government Health Authorities in developing its response to the evolving COVID-19 situation.

Adelaide Microscopy is fully operational under the current health guidelines and advice from the government.  For users of our facility this means that access to all equipment, including training and staff assistance, is available.  

Some changes that have been implemented to ensure that we operate as COVID-19 Safe in accordance with South Australian government and SA Health guidelines include:

  • All staff and users of the Centre are required to comply with new recommendations from SA Heatlh, which includes the wearing of masks at all times for all students and staff attending campus.  Users are asked to bring their own mask.
     
  • Facility access is restricted to swipe access only at all times.
  • External users may borrow a visitor swipe access card during booking times.
  • Please see Reception on arrival if:
    • You do not have swipe access
    • You are meeting with a staff member
    • If you are feeling unwell or showing any COVID-19 symptoms, do not enter the facility.
    • Social distancing guidelines are to be observed at all times:
      • Social distancing of 1.5m where practical to do so.
      • Room limits will apply in laboratories where training is required and AM staff will provide advice on how training sessions may be affected.All shared surfaces, e.g. keyboard, mouse, microscope user interfaces, are to be cleaned thoroughly with ethanol or ethanol wipes (provided) after use.
         
    • Use hand sanitiser on entry and exit from the facility and practice good hygiene.
