The course develops further the proficiency levels in language acquired in the first semester. Emphasis is placed on oral-aural comprehension and use of both spoken and written Italian. The classes are programmed for interaction within the group. The study of contemporary Italian usage is undertaken with practice in a variety of skills and methods that include aural-oral communication, composition, reading, language drills, and computer-assisted learning.
