WINE 3503 - Aust Wine In The Asian Century

North Terrace Campus - Trimester 3 - 2015

Asia is recognised as the area of greatest potential growth for sales of Australian wines. Whilst these sales will be dominated by wine consumption in China, other emerging wine markets such as Vietnam, India, Malaysia and Indonesia are growing in importance to our established markets in places such as Singapore. This course focuses on the potential of these markets and provides an understanding of market opportunities as well as barriers to success. This includes analysis of economic and market structures, current wine consumptions and preferences. Entry strategy options and understanding of differing distribution and retail systems are explored. The course also provides insights to cross cultural issues and business to business relationship strategies in an Asian context.
