General Course Information
Course Code ENTREP 3000 Course Innovation and Creativity Coordinating Unit Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation & Innov Centre Term Winter Level Undergraduate Location/s North Terrace Campus Units 3 Contact Intensive: 36 to 40 hours Available for Study Abroad and Exchange Y Prerequisites ENTREP 1001 OR ENTREP 1011 OR ENTREP 2001 OR TECHCOMM 2001 Course Description This course explores both individual and group creativity, as well as the barrier to creativity and approaches to overcoming these. You will use numerous methods for generating or recognising ideas, and developing alternatives or possibilities to solve commercial or operational problems. This course provides processes to turn creativity into innovation that benefits the customer and the business venture, and to bring creativity and innovation across the organisation, to build an environment to support these activities. You will also learn how to develop creative scenarios for the future for the organisation.

Course Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
1 Critically analyse creativity, barriers to creativity and how creativity leads to innovation. 2 Develop and implement strategies to enhance personal creativity and transform it to innovation. 3 Apply teamwork skills: process, collaboration, interpersonal skills, oral and written communication. 4 Apply ethics and morality as a part of creativity and innovation.

Small Group Discovery ExperienceSGDE is available in the assignment where research skills are developed as part of a process of developing a presentation connecting creativity with innovation. Students present the research required to analyse and apply creative thinking in relation to innovation and entrepreneurship. Individual and group problem-solving skills are developed in the tutorials and assessed in the group assignment. Students develop and extend analysis skills by researching and developing solutions that address their identified research questions.

The quiz may cover any of the topics from the lectures and readings that have been set as part of the course. Please note that, following University policy, dictionaries are not allowed in exams.
Legible writing and the quality of English expression are considered to be integral parts of the assessment process. Marks may be deducted in the final examination because of poor writing or incorrect English expression.
It is each student's responsibility to read the examination timetable. Misreading the timetable is not accepted as grounds for granting a supplementary quiz. University staff are not permitted to provide examination times to students over the telephone or in response to personal enquiries. Examinations will be held only at the time and locations stated in the University’s Examination Timetable and so students should not make any arrangements to be absent until after the examination period.
Assessment Related Requirements
Note: a late penalty of 10% of the total available marks for that assessment item will be incurred each day an assignment is handed in lateStudents should attend all classes in order to pass the course. There is considerable experiential learning in workshops during the intensive classes that build your knowledge and thus enable you to be successful in this course.

Assessment DetailAssessment 1: Creativity Multiple choice and short answer quiz
Task: Complete the online quiz consisting of up to 20 multiple choice and 5 short answer questions.
Assessment 2: Innovation Multiple choice and short answer quiz
Task: Complete the online quiz consisting of up to 20 multiple choice and 5 short answer questions.
Assessment 3: Group presentation, participation and attendance
Task: Each group will provide a presentation and answer questions.
Attendance and presentations must demonstrate all members of the group contributed.
SubmissionAll text based assignments must be submitted via MyUni.

There are a few points to note about the submission of assignments:
- Assignment Submission: Assignments should not be emailed to the instructor; they must be lodged via the MyUni Course site (unless specified to do both). Note that assignments may be processed via TURNITIN, which is an online plagiarism prevention tool.
- Cover Sheet: Please include in the assignment a completed University of Adelaide Assessment Cover Sheet providing details of yourself and your team members (if applicable), your assignment, the course, date submitted, etc. as well as the declaration signed by you that this is your (your team’s) work. Note that the declaration on any electronically submitted assignment will be deemed to have the same authority as a signed declaration.
- Backup Copy of Assignments: You are advised to keep a copy of your assignments in case the submitted copy goes missing. Please ensure that all assignment pages are numbered. If your assignment contains confidential information, you should discuss any concerns with the Course Lecturer prior to submission.
- Extensions of Time: An application for Assessment Extension should be made well before the due date of the assignment to the Course Lecturer. Normally, extensions will only be granted for a maximum of two weeks from the original assignment submission date. Extensions will only be granted in cases of genuine medical, compassionate or extenuating circumstances.
- Failure to submit: Failure to submit an assignment on time or by the agreed extension deadline may result in penalties and may incur a fail grade. Note that a late penalty of 5% of the total available marks for that assessment item will be incurred each day an assignment is handed in late (Unless otherwise stated in 'Assessment Related Requirements' or 'Assessment Detail' above). Assignments handed in after 14 days from the due submission date will fail even if a 100% mark is granted for the work.
Resubmission & Remarking
Resubmission of an assignment for remarking after reworking it to obtain a better mark will not normally be accepted. Approval for resubmission will only be granted on medical or compassionate grounds.
Grades for your performance in this course will be awarded in accordance with the following scheme:
