C&ENVENG 4042 - Design of Steel Concrete Composites

North Terrace Campus - Semester 2 - 2017

Composite steel concrete elements are used widely in bridge and building construction due to their structural efficiency. The objective of this course is to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the behaviour of steel concrete composites and how they are designed. Topics of study are to be taken from: methods of composite construction, the behaviour of steel concrete composites including patrial shear connection and partial interaction theories, elastic and plastic analysis of composite flexural members and behaviour under fatigue loading.
