CRARTS 2001 - Creative Arts Internship

North Terrace Campus - Semester 2 - 2019

If you are a hard-working, high performing student committed to progressing to a career in the field of creative arts there is an opportunity for you in the Creative Arts Internship Program. Students who take this course will spend a minimum of 50 hours in an organisation, working on an agreed project with exposure to a professional working environment. Applicants must be in the Bachelor of Creative Arts and be willing to serve as ambassadors for the University, aspiring to benefit from the experience professionally, culturally and personally. In this course students are given the opportunity as 'interns' working within specified areas in the creative arts sector in South Australia, while completing an agreed research report or creative project for their host organisation. Placements are supplemented with a series of seminars on research and report writing as well as on topics related to career readiness. Students will be allocated placements that relate to their key area of study from among a range of host organisations which include the media industry, the music, arts and entertainment industries as well as relevant areas of the public and private sectors. Final placement will depend upon availability of a host organisation (arranged by the student or from a list of organisations which the Faculty has organised). Students will receive supervision for their project from an academic who will mark their project. This course provides a way for students get some experience in the workplace and to enhance their creative and research writing skills.
