Course Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course students will be able to:- Identify and develop solutions for small-scale information technology projects
- Apply systematic and creative thinking techniques for analysis and problem solving
- Apply critical thinking skills in the development of complex activities and in the provision of constructive criticism
- Apply fundamental IT methods and simple algorithms in the construction of a real or simulated system solution.
- Demonstrate technical competency in at least two areas of programming, system design, networking, and project management.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate, in written, visual and verbal form, in order to convey complex information to others in a way that supports decision-making.
- Demonstrate teamwork, personnel management, and conflict management skills in contributing to and leading teams.

All lectures will be conducted in-class (and recorded) to cover important material to assist in project development. Workshop activities are interactive and practical, and are not recorded. -

Learning & Teaching Modes
Lectures will be delivered in-class (also recorded and streamed). Workshop activities will be held only in-class. While the individual project work is individual, the second project is completed as on group work. Students will engage in a wide range of skills, technical and non-technical.Workload

Students are expected to allocate 10 hours per week for study-related activities, with an additional 30 hours in total for the two project assignments. This is a total of 150 hours for the course.Learning Activities Summary
Students will participate in lectures and workshop sessions on a weekly basis. The workshop sessions will develop skills and provide an opportunity to work on project—and assessment-related activities.Specific Course Requirements
Despite the lack of formal pre-requisites, students are assumed to be able to code to some extent and have some awareness of information technology. No formal project management or team work experience is required. -

Student Feedback
The University places a high priority on approaches to learning and teaching that enhance the student experience.
