Professor Martin K. Oehler, MD, PhD, FRANZCOG, is Clinical Professor at Adelaide University Medical School, Program Leader of Reproductive Systems Biology at the Robinson Research Institute, and Director of Gynaecological Oncology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Professor Oehler is an internationally recognised gynaecological oncologist whose work focuses on ovarian and endometrial cancer, with particular interests in cancer biomarkers, proteomics, spatial molecular profiling, immunology, and artificial intelligence. He has established extensive translational programs that integrate laboratory discoveries with clinical applications and has developed one of Australia’s largest ovarian cancer tissue banks. His work aims to improve cancer prevention, early detection, treatment selection, and personalised care for women with gynaecological malignancies.He has published more than 290 peer-reviewed articles, received over 16,000 citations, and collaborates extensively with leading national and international research groups. His current studies explore the application of multi-omics technologies and artificial intelligence to advance precision oncology and improve outcomes for women with gynaecological cancers. In addition to his scientific work, Professor Oehler is an experienced robotic and pelvic surgeon, educator, and mentor, dedicated to advancing standards of care and training the next generation of gynaecological oncologists.
