Biography/ Background
Marta Khomyn is a Lecturer at the Adelaide Business School, with the research focus on FinTech, Market Microstructure, and Behavioural Finance. Marta teaches Business Analytics and does empirical research on passive investing, high-frequency trading, exchange-traded funds, market efficiency, cryptocurrency markets, and more. Her research has been published in top academic journals such as Journal of Business and Finance. Marta also consults for the World Bank, evaluating the economic impact of digitalization projects in developing countries. Prior to joining the University of Adelaide, Marta has been a Visiting Researcher at Chi-X Australia, a stock exchange. She also taught various Finance subjects at University of Technology Sydney and Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. Her teaching portfolio includes courses in Capital Markets, Fundamentals of Business and Finance, Behavioural Finance, International Finance, and Market Microstructure.
Marta is involved in Ukrainian Global University initiative, Economists for Ukraine, and the World Bank Reconstruction and Recovery project (Telecom & Digital sector). Here is her Google scholar page, and her blog.

Qualifications
Marta holds a PhD in Finance from University of Technology Sydney, and a MSc in Finance from Stockholm School of Economics. During her MSc studies, Marta spent one semester as a Wallenberg Fellow at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Prior to that, she completed a BSc degree at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.

Marta currently teaches Business Analytics Project to graduate students.

Research Interests
Marta uses empirical methods to answer high-impact questions in FinTech, Market Microstructure and Behavioural Finance. Her research interests are motivated by improving our understanding of crypocurrency markets, and using behavioural insights to advance the financial literacy among Australian retail investors.
