Biography/ Background
Dr Qazi Haque is a Senior Lecturer and the Honours Program Director in the School of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Adelaide. His research lies at the intersection of Macroeconomics and Applied Macroeconometrics, with a focus on policy-relevant empirical analysis.
Dr Haque completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Adelaide, where he was awarded the University Doctoral Research Medal for excellence in doctoral research. Before returning to Adelaide as a Lecturer, he held positions as an Economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia.
He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Australasian Macroeconomics Society as Secretary. He is also a Principal Investigator at the Global Hydrogen Production Technologies (HyPT) Centre—an international, interdisciplinary research initiative—and a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) at the Australian National University.
Dr Haque's research has been supported by funding from the Australian Research Council and the CSIRO. He has undertaken visiting research appointments at leading academic and policy institutions, including the University of Oxford, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, and De Nederlandsche Bank. His work has been published in leading international journals such as the European Economic Review, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and Journal of Applied Econometrics.
