Pussy Riot joins Uni's creative revolution

Wednesday, 20 February 2019

PussyriotRussian feminist punk rock group Pussy Riot will headline an in-conversation series of free talks at the University of Adelaide, offering audiences an exclusive insight into some of the RCC Fringe 2019's leading performers.

Run by the University's Sia Furler Institute of Contemporary Music and Media, the next three Creative Revolutionaries events will feature conversations on stage with RCC Fringe performers:

Penny Arcade (Thursday 21 February). Please book online.
The Reverend Billy (Thursday 28 February). Please book online.
Pussy Riot (Tuesday 5 March). Please book online.

Each of these events is free – bookings essential (see details below).

Pussy Riot is one of the headline acts for RCC Fringe 2019 – a huge fully-curated program of mind-expanding international arts including theatre, music, circus and comedy being held on the University of Adelaide's North Terrace campus – with performances from the group on 27 February to 3 March, and again on 7 March.

Featuring the three key members of the iconic group performing together for the first time ever, Pussy Riot’s historic and unmissable performances will be given a unique perspective with this candid on-stage conversation.

"We're excited to be able to give the people of Adelaide an exclusive opportunity to hear what has driven these creative innovators," says Tom Hajdu, Director of the University's Sia Furler Institute of Contemporary Music and Media.

"Our event series, Creative Revolutionaries, is an exciting forum for South Australians to connect with local and global visionaries.

"As well as hearing the performers talk about their work with interviewers, audience members will also be able to ask their own questions of each act.

"We're grateful for this unique collaboration with RCC Fringe, which has helped to bring these performers to Adelaide. We look forward to expanding Creative Revolutionaries beyond RCC Fringe, with the University to host regular on-stage conversations with creative and innovative leaders."

All events will be held in The Braggs lecture theatre, University of Adelaide. Seating is limited. Events are free but online bookings are essential via Eventbrite:
