Thursday, 27 February 2003

The University of Adelaide today announced that well-known South Australian business leader Mr Ian Kowalick has been named Acting Dean of the Adelaide Graduate School of Business.

Mr Kowalick will serve for six months and assumes his role on March 3.

"We are delighted to have someone of Mr Kowalick's calibre running the business school," the University's Vice-Chancellor Professor James McWha said. "He is the former Chief Executive of the South Australian Department of Premier and Cabinet and has extensive experience in the private and public sectors."

Professor McWha said the Adelaide Graduate School of Business has a well established record of closely working with business and government organizations in various parts of Australia and is enjoying strong growth both locally and off shore.

Mr Kowalick is undertaking the role following the resignation of the school's former dean Professor Tony Travaglione, who has decided to concentrate on his research.
