Quiet students, big impact - inclusive strategies for supporting engagement and communication

In this workshop, participants will explore inclusive strategies to support quiet students who may be disadvantaged by verbal assessments.

We’ll discuss alternative ways for students to demonstrate understanding without relying solely on verbal participation. Using tools like Mentimeter, Miro, H5P, and creative analogue games, participants will engage in hands-on activities that help recognise diverse forms of engagement. The workshop will also dive into the advantages and challenges of oral presentations and vivas, examining how we can better scaffold these skills to prepare students for professional environments where communication is key.
