Hone & Stirling Teaching Space

State-of-the-art interactive services in the revamped Hone & Stirling lecture theatres will support a pedagogical approach known as “teaching in the round”.

Hone & Stirling teaching space

An underutilised tiered floor in the Helen Mayo South Building will be redeveloped to a flexible, flat-floor teaching space. The rounded 120-capacity classroom will put teachers at the heart of the lesson, enabling every student to see, hear and engage, helping to drive participation and collaboration.

Project details

High-specification technology includes a central control touch panel, multiple perimeter touch screens, interactive video wall, conference facilities and whiteboard capture.

A central teaching console will allow for greater interactivity, and an improved student and staff experience.

Practical completion is scheduled for late-January 2022.
