Maintenance
The Infrastructure Branch is responsible for the upkeep of buildings, grounds and service infrastructure within the University's campuses and select commercial properties.
Requests for maintenance and other infrastructure services, including electrical work, waste disposal, cleaning, pest control, irrigation, and plumbing, must be made through the online request system (UniSpace). A confirmation email with a work order number will be sent to the nominated email address.
In an emergency, contact the Facilities Support Desk on 831 34008. If you haven’t already done so, they will ask you to log a Service Request, which will allow you to track the progress of your request.
Service requests
Where possible, we recommend making your service requests well in advance, as jobs are scheduled in order of priority and time frames for expected completion cannot always be provided.
Priority will be given to life-threatening emergencies or buildings and grounds emergencies, such as a ceiling collapse, flood or fire. Urgent requests such as electrical or plumbing issues or a person trapped in a lift, will also be actioned promptly.
The vast majority of requests will be actioned within 24 hours. Caretaking requests must be given three business days.

Building ventilation
Ventilation changes to the University buildings
The University has implemented changes to ventilation in all buildings across campus. We have made significant progress in phase one - library and teaching buildings, with 100 percent of CO2 ,100 percent of filtration and 95 percent of purge upgrades now completed.
Adjustments are made with the following primary criteria in mind, use types of the building, humidity control, temperature contemporary comfort bandwidth and Carbon Dioxide thresholds. With the majority of University Buildings having a Building Management System (BMS) the monitoring of these elements is enabled to ensure a regulated volumetric proportion of outside air at optimal levels. The following buildings with different use spaces served by a centralised mechanical system have undergone an increase in fresh air intakes.
