Spotlight on Academic Integrity

This semester we have recruited seven students as Academic Integrity Ambassadors.

They will be working with PASS leaders and course coordinators to support the use of academic integrity resources and activities in teaching. The Ambassadors will act as a vital link between students and teaching staff, and will be working towards increasing student engagement around important topics such as integrity in online exams. The AI Ambassadors will also feature at the upcoming Academic Integrity Colloquium, presenting “What students want their teachers to know about academic integrity”.

All staff are invited to join us for this year’s Academic Integrity Colloquium on Thursday 15th April, from 9.00am to 12.00pm.

Featuring a keynote from Academic Integrity expert Professor Phillip Dawson from the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE) at Deakin University, at this online event we will discuss important developments in the sector, including prevention and detection of contract cheating, partnering with students, and innovations in assessment design. You can view the full program and book your place for this online event today.

As the first assignments of the semester approach, there has never been a better time to talk about academic integrity

All educators are encouraged to build learning about academic integrity into discussions around assessment tasks.  While some first-year commencing undergraduate students are required to complete a 30-minute mandatory Academic Integrity Module by the end of week 4, all other students can self-enrol in the Epigeum Academic Integrity module on MyUni or undertake the AI mini-modules available on the student AI website. We will roll out the mandatory module to more commencing students by the end of the year.
