CloudStor is being decommissioned
What is happening?
As of 12pm AEDT Friday 15 December, 2023, AARNet are ceasing the operation of CloudStor.
The University of Adelaide staff & students storing vital information in CloudStor will need to find an alternate file storage and collaboration platform prior to CloudStor being decommissioned.
It is the responsibility of the person who stored their files on CloudStor to remove them.
SharePoint is the preferred solution that allows staff & students to store files and share externally, with R:// drive a storage only option for staff only.
The University of Adelaide tenancy has now been set to ‘read-only’, which means you no longer have the ability to update or upload files to CloudStor, and there are no options to make an account active.
AARNet have prepared a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page.
When is it happening?
CloudStor is being decommissioned by AARNET at 12pm AEDT Friday 15 December, 2023.
We encourage you to move your files, as soon as possible, as it may take some time to download and upload your files before this date.
We are recommending files are moved as soon as possible, as large accounts and files may take some time to transfer, which allows time for anyone that needs support.
From 12pm AEDT Friday 15 December, 2023, you will not be able to access your files.
What do I need to do?
Steps required to transfer your files from CloudStor:
- The University will send you a link to create a new SharePoint site. If you already have a SharePoint site, you don’t need to take up this option.
- Download your files
- Upload or migrate your files to the SharePoint site or another storage solution.
- You must request AARNet to delete your account. Click on the link for instructions - Cloudstor delete my account page.
Note: You can still use AARNet File Sender to share your files.
