Give To The Library

Donors and benefactors play a significant role in supporting the Library to provide much needed resources for University teaching and research.
When you donate to the University Library you are directly supporting our students and researchers.
Barr Smith Library Appeal
The Barr Smith Library is more than just a place to study – for almost 130 years it has been a place where students and researchers alike have found support and space for quiet reflection, while still being at the very heart of our North Terrace Campus.
When you give to the Barr Smith Library appeal, you are preserving those experiences for generations of students to come.
Financial donations
As outlined in our Development Plan, your financial donation will help us digitise and conserve unique and important items from our collections. It can also help us build new state-of-art facilities to meet the needs of students or provide additional resources to support the development of new courses to benefit both current and future scholars.
Donate today or learn about the different ways that you can give to the University Library.
Collection offers
The Library welcomes acquisition and donation offers for published and original material that meet the Library's collection development principles.
For more information on what the Library accepts, and to make an offer visit the Donation offers for published and original material page.
Cultural Gifts Program
The Cultural Gifts Program enables donors to receive a tax deduction for the market value of rare books and other collectible items donated to the University Library. Potential donors are invited to contact the University Librarian to discuss any proposed donation or offer of material under the Cultural Gifts Program.
