Services For University Of Adelaide Staff

Staff at the University of Adelaide are automatically members of the library and can borrow books and access the full range of online resources using their University ID card.

Membership inclusions
Borrow up to 50 items for 12 weeks (with automatic renewals)
Access to a wide range of online journals, eBooks and databases
Access to the Interlibrary Loan service
General advice and support from Ask Library with specialist research support provided by the liaison librarian team.

For casual staff, visitors, and retired staff, membership at the University Library offers a range of benefits, including access to a range of online resources, borrowing and support from the Ask Library team:

  • Information for casual staff

  • Information for retired staff

    Former staff members of the University of Adelaide who have completed 3 or more years of service are eligible for free library membership. Find information about the membership here.

  • Information for University visitors

    Visitors to the University (i.e. visiting academics and volunteers) can join the library with a Visitor Membership. Visitor membership includes online access to resources, borrowing and support from Ask Library. 

    To become a Visitor Member you will need:

    1. University IT access: Ask your faculty or organisational unit to apply for IT access on your behalf. Once you have IT access you will be able to access the full range of online resources available via the library.
    2. A library membership card to be able to borrow books and other items. To organise a library membership card contact Ask Library.
