Changes to authentication

The University of Adelaide's new authentication system is now live. This upgrade brings the library's authentication systems more closely in line with those used across the University, and provides better security for our valuable range of online resources.

Depending on your membership type, the way you login to access MyLibrary and online resources may have changed.

For students and staff of the University of Adelaide

The change is purely cosmetic. Please continue to login using your University ID number and password.

For Alumni and Community members

You need to update your password. A temporary password has now been sent to your registered email address. You can choose to login to the new system using either your library barcode or email address, and you will then be prompted to create a new password.

Once your password has been updated you will be able to continue logging in to MyLibrary as usual.

For Reciprocal borrowers

You need to register for an account in order to continue logging in to MyLibrary. Registration is quick and easy:

  • Go to the registration page.
  • Create an individual account using the barcode from your library card.
[Please note: the barcode will be the one on your home University ID card; however, if we've issued you a University of Adelaide Library card, you will need to use that barcode.]
  • Once you have registered you will be able to login to MyLibrary. In the username field, enter either your library card barcode or registered email address. As part of the registration process you will be prompted to create your own password.

For Year 11 and 12 students

You need to register for an account in order to continue logging in to MyLibrary. Registration is quick and easy:

  • Go to the registration page.
  • Create an individual account using the barcode from your library card as the username and your own personal email address.
  • Once you have registered you will be able to login to MyLibrary. In the username field, enter either your library card barcode or registered email address. As part of the registration process you will be prompted to create your own password.

For University Senior College students

You do not need to register for a new account. Your login will now be your USC email username and assigned email password.
