Community Legends & the COVID-19 crisis

How do you mark something so profound as the COVID-19 crisis? Although global in nature, the impact of restrictions resulted in many of us spending significantly more time at home and in our local communities. It has fostered a greater sense of community, which will be the focus of a new award program: Community Legends seeks to champion the small things that made a difference during the COVID-19 crisis.

Starting Monday 15 June, submissions are now open for people to nominate their Community Legends. By nominating you can help us celebrate the kindness and resilience shown by the University of Adelaide community during the last few months. Six selected nominees will be honoured with a portrait by artist Fruzsi Kenez. The selected entries will then be unveiled in an online exhibition, with hopes of featuring in a physical exhibition later in the year.

The first round closes on Monday 22 June, so you are encouraged to get your nominations in soon. All you need to do is let us know why your nominated person deserves to be an official Community Legend
