William Morris and the Kelmscott Press in Adelaide

Part of an international celebration, the William Morris and the Kelmscott Press in Adelaide display highlights one of the most beautiful books ever printed, ‘The Kelmscott Chaucer’.

Marking 125 years since its publication, the Kelmscott edition of Chaucer’s works represents the culmination of William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones’s artistic partnership. We’re celebrating this special occasion with a display of Kelmscott works, including the Kelmscott Beowulf and the Sire Degrauvant in historic fine bindings, two deluxe facsimiles of The Works of Geoffrey Chaucer, plus other rare, original Kelmscotts. Through this display, explore the impact of this publication and its connection with the University of Adelaide.
