Refresh of Audio Visual Equipment

 

Overview

During August and September 2025, a refresh of the audio visual equipment in several rooms within the below buildings will take place.

  • Australian Institute of Machine Learning (AIML)
  • Ingkarni Wardli
  • Rundle Mall Plaza (RMP) Levels 3 and 4

This refresh bring the audio visual equipment in these rooms into line with the standard for meeting rooms across our University. 
 

What will change?

The majority of these works will provide you with a smoother and better user experience without requiring you to do anything differently. However, there are several key changes that you do need to be aware of, which we have outlined below.
 

Key changes

  • The connection panel will now be located next to the screen at the front of the room. 
     
  • If you are connecting your device to the room, you will now:
    • Connect it using the provided USB-C cable (previously HDMI). 
    • Control your device using the room's wireless keyboard and mouse, which will be automatically connected to your device via the USB-C cable
    • Leave your device at the front of the room while you are presenting. 
       
  • In Ingkarni Wardli Room 5.57 only the current configuration of two projectors and projector screens will be changed to one single large LCD panel. LCD panels are brighter, provide a sharper image, and are more resilient to ambient lighting conditions.
     
 ​Benefits of the change to USB-C include
  • You can now use any USB-C device to present, including iPhone and iPad. 
  • Your device will charge while it is connected to the room. 
  • A broader range of notebooks will now be able to connect to the rooms.

Training

If you are a frequent user of any of these rooms, we encourage to you to attend a training session to familiarise yourself with the new equipment. At least one 45-minute training session is being offered on site at each of the buildings.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to reschedule any of my room bookings?

If you have a booking in these rooms during these works, we will contact you directly to reschedule it. Each room has been booked out for the duration of the installation window to prevent future bookings. 
 

Why is this upgrade taking place?

ITDS has a preventative maintenance and technology modernisation plan in place, to ensure all AV equipment is fit for purpose and works reliably. These specific rooms are being upgraded as part of the Packages 3 and 4 of the 2025 AV Refresh.
