Asking for an FOI decision review
When we have made a decision on your FOI request, we will send you a letter explaining our decision and your review and appeal rights if you are unhappy with the decision.
Grounds on which you may request a review include:
- If we refuse to give you access to all or part of a document or if we delay giving you access.
- If we impose a charge.
- If we refuse to change or annotate information about you that you claim is incomplete, incorrect, out-of-date or misleading.
A third party who disagrees with our decision to give you documents that contain information about them can also ask for our decision to be reviewed.
If you are unhappy with a decision, you may apply for internal review by the Vice-Chancellor, unless the original decision was made by the Vice-Chancellor.
Application fees apply for internal reviews unless you satisfy the requirements for a waiver - see the FOI fees and charges page.
The Vice-Chancellor makes the determination on internal review.
If you are still unhappy with the outcome upon internal review, or if the original decision was not eligible for internal review, you may apply for external review by:
- Ombudsman SA
- the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT).
