Welcome to the library

A big welcome to everyone beginning their studies this year! To offer some help, we've compiled a list of the services and support offered during your time at the University. We are here to help you succeed. For the full list of library services available, check out our Services for Students page.

To get started, find out all about our different locations and opening hours. Some of our study spaces are also bookable, including study rooms and computers. We have solo study booths, group study tables, quiet zones, and quiet discussion areas. One of the most popular places to study is the Reading Room on Level 2 of the Barr Smith Library, which has a wonderful, academic history and studious atmosphere.

Consult one of our How Do I guides to begin finding information for your assignments. You'll find self-help guides on searching effectively, using databases, referencing styles, subject specific resources, and more! You may also want to watch our Library Bites for quick, helpful tips on searching and finding information, or self-enrol in one of the Library Essentials courses available in MyUni.

If you have any questions about using the library, please contact our helpful Ask Library staff

We wish you the very best of luck with your studies.
