The virtual library – always open!
Now more than ever it’s important to know that you, and your students, can still connect with the Library.
The recent change to remote teaching requires you to use electronic resources, possibly more than you have in the past. Here’s where the Library comes in!
You can access our virtual library anytime, anywhere and our staff are still available to help you with any queries you have.
As teaching staff you can:
- Get help from your Liaison Librarian – book a one-on-one Zoom session or send us an email. We can provide advice on using Library resources in your courses
- Contact our Copyright & Open Access Co-ordinator with any queries about content that you want to include in your course but you’re not sure it’s copyright compliant
- Access the entire online collection via Library Search and our Databases by Title & Subject page
- View our compiled list of open educational resources, free to use in your courses
- Request journal articles via inter-library loan
- Visit our physical spaces – our Barr Smith, Roseworthy and Waite Libraries are all still open (don’t forget to bring your staff ID card).
For your students:
We recognise that it’s a tough time for our students but we still want them to succeed. To do this they need to connect with good quality information for their assignments. We have developed Library Essentials, a series of online courses that guide students through the process of finding, evaluating and referencing information correctly. Each Faculty (plus Law) has a tailored, self-enrol version of the course and students can access this information from home.
In addition, students can:
- Access our virtual library
- Use our ‘How Do I’ information guides
- Visit and study in our physical spaces
- Contact Ask Library staff with any Library related queries
- Borrow books currently available in our Libraries
- Request journal articles via inter-library loan
* Note, the Ligertwood Building, including the Library, is currently in hibernation and not open.
