Jane Austen: the French connection
Bookings essential! Join us on Saturday 17 October for a special benefit concert for the Barr Smith Library with the Jane Austen Society of South Australia. This will be a unique performance of pieces from Jane Austen’s rich collection of manuscript music books.

Friends of the Library event - Long Flight Home
The final Friends of the Library event for 2019, on Wednesday 20 November, will be a conversation with Lainie Anderson, author of Long Flight Home - a meticulously researched novelisation of the first flight from England to Australia by the Smith brothers, which celebrated its centenary this year.

Event 25 July: The Kaurna children's letters of 1840-1843
The Kaurna Children’s Letters 1840-1843 to the Dresden Mission Society are an important historical collection held at the University of Adelaide library. Come along to this lunchtime discovery event to hear Associate Professor Rob Amery speak on the significance of these letters and their journey to the library.
