AdelaideX MOOCs

CaRST has partnered with AdelaideX to offer online courses in project management, entrepreneurship, and coding to HDRs for free.

AdelaideX is the massive open online course (MOOC) division of the University of Adelaide creating high-quality online courses for edX. Under this partnership, HDRs can now enrol in approved AdelaideX MOOCs and receive a certificate of completion valid for CaRST credit at no additional cost.

HDR students can select from the following courses:

  • Introduction to Project Management

    Project management is an essential skill-set for many careers and in many contexts in our lives.

    Introduction to Project Management is an ideal starting point if you need to manage projects at work or at home, while not necessarily being a formally trained project manager. It is also suitable if you are considering undertaking a project in the near future and are seeking to learn and apply essential project management knowledge and skills.

    In Introduction to Project Management, you will learn practical ways to use project management skills, whether your project is large or small. Join us to explore how you can benefit from using project management techniques in your own projects

  • Entrepreneurial Opportunities

    Learn how to be a successful entrepreneur by understanding how to evaluate business opportunities and ideas.

    Do you have a business idea, but you’re not sure if it’s going to fly? Or maybe you know you want to be an entrepreneur, but you’re not sure where to start? This business course is for anyone aspiring to be an entrepreneur – regardless of the industry or type of venture you might have in mind.

    In this course, you will work with the expert team at the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre at the University of Adelaide. They have experience as entrepreneurs and investors and have facilitated the establishment of many successful businesses. This is a self-paced course. Join us and make your business ideas fly.

  • Think. Create. Code.

    Empower yourself to create and control digital information, and gain the computational thinking skills to tackle our most complex problems.

    Learn how to create your own artistic images and animations and display them in our online gallery, which has now been enhanced to suit self-paced learners.

    In this course, you will not only learn the inner workings of your digital world, but also create and manipulate images with code, creating new artworks and interactive animations. Your images and animations will be displayed in an online Art Gallery, forming part of a vibrant learning community. You will also develop effective computational thinking skills and concepts transferable to other coding environments and programming languages.
