Award Criteria

Research Excellence and Impact
Four awards are available under this category:
- An award for an early-career researcher*
- An award for a mid-career researcher
- An award for an interdisciplinary research team (Academic, Professional or mixed)
- An award for outstanding mentorship
*A researcher awarded a PhD within the last five years, or longer if combined with periods of significant career interruption.
Nominations must address two or more of the following criteria:
- Evidence of sustained and exceptional research performance (appropriate to stage of career) which enhances the research reputation of the University.
- Evidence of exceptional mentoring that has led to the positive development, career progression and achievements of mentees.
- Evidence of how mentoring activities has increased participation of underrepresented groups in relevant disciplines and/or careers.
- Innovative and/or entrepreneurial approaches taken to translate research into economic or societal benefits.
- Enhancing strategic partnerships with key industry sectors, community, business or industry partners, and/or establishing strategically aligned new partnerships that deliver strong benefits and makes a substantial difference to the national or international community.
- Demonstration of exemplary outcomes that were achieved through multidisciplinary and/or collaborative teamwork across the University and/or with external partners.
- Providing exceptional and sustained research support.
- Developing new approaches to increase and improve research output delivery.

An Enhanced Student Experience
Two awards are available under this category:
- An award for a staff member (Academic or Professional)
- An award for a team (Academic, Professional or mixed)
Nominations for must address one or more of the following criteria:
- Developing flexible support and activities to facilitate exceptional engagement with students at various points of their university life.
- Providing a consistently outstanding student experience, whether on campus, blended or online.
- Making significant contribution to student retention and success.
- Providing exceptional and sustained professional services in support of the student experience.
- Partnering with community, business and or industry partners to enhance the quality of learning and teaching and/or student outcomes

A Culture of Service Innovation and Excellence

- An award for a staff member (Academic or Professional)
- An award for a team (Academic, Professional or mixed)
Nominations must address one or more of the following criteria:
- Successfully implementing a significant and innovative change that improves workplace effectiveness and efficiency.
- Successfully implementing a new initiative, product or service that significantly benefits the staff or student experience.
- Providing a sustained and exceptional level of service quality.
- Making a significant contribution to workplace safety

A Connected and Enriched Community
Three awards are available under this category.
- An award for a staff member (Academic or Professional)
- An award for a team (Academic, Professional or mixed)
- An award for a titleholder for making an exceptional contribution to the University
Nominations must address one or more of the following:
- Effectively promoting and enhancing the University’s relationship with affiliates, alumni and/or the broader community.
- Successfully implementing a new initiative, or developing an existing practice, which positively contributes to building a sense of community within the University.
- Actively contributing to an enhanced understanding of Indigenous culture, knowledges and values amongst staff and/or students
- Shaping a more open culture through demonstrating inclusive and supportive behaviours in the workplace.
- Demonstrating successful practice in supporting staff and students from diverse or under-represented groups
- Contributing to improving access and participation for current and future staff and/or students for whom barriers may exist
- Enhancing University's reputation in regard to equity, diversity and inclusion through demonstrable action.
Exceptional contributions by a Titleholder
Nominations must address one or more of the following:
Sustained and exceptional service to the University of Adelaide in:
- Research
- Teaching and learning
- Community engagement

Leadership Impact
Two awards are available under this category:
- An award for excellence in leadership (Academic or Professional)
- An award for emerging leadership (Academic or Professional)
Nominations must address both of the following criteria:
- Providing exceptional leadership by exemplifying the capabilities outlined in the Leading at Adelaide Framework
- Leading by and exemplifying the Staff Values and Behaviour Framework
