    This checklist will provide guidance to managers when considering workloads, resources, and team expectations, important in creating a supportive inclusive team culture.

  • Keeping in touch

    Managers should discuss with staff if and how often they would like to be informed during their parental leave. The level of contact staff want or need will not be the same for everyone, so it is important to set expectations around communication method, frequency. the types of information they wish to receive and any activities they would like to continue to be part of. “Keeping in touch” options could include:

    • A monthly phone call/email
    • Quarterly work updates
    • Invitations to social events and visits
    • No contact
    • Other ideas that will work for you
